1962-63 Baltimore News-Post scrapbook cards

1962 Baltimore News-Post Scrapbook cards

Quite similar in format to the previous year's Orioles scrapbook cards, the 1962 newspaper cards were also not numbered when they were published during spring training; numbers have been assigned here alphabetically. It is not out of the realm of possibility that because the scrapbook cards were not numbered an heretofore unreported straggler may show up some day,

The format for the 1962 pictures remained a nominal 5" x 8". Besides the picture and facsimile autograph, the card had personal data including name, position, birth date and place, place of residence, batting and throwing preference, information on family members and a space for an autograph.

The paragraphs of career data and season prospects were replaced by compete major and minor league stats.

The set included not only veteran players, but top minor league prospects, coaches and the manager. A number of players found in this set do not appear on any other baseball cards.

  1. Bob, With the possible exception of Sorenson, I believe everybody here was on a card at sometime. Dalkowski was even 1/2 of a rookie card I believe..unless it was one of those "cards that never were" types..
